Marist College's annual giving program, the Marist Fund, was founded nearly 30 years ago. The Marist Fund assists the College in providing the finest educational experience achievable for its students. In a specific effort to make a Marist education affordable for talented students from the Hudson Valley, the Marist Fund launched a new program in 1995 that directed support from local businesses and corporations toward financial aid for these students. This unique campaign became known as the Hudson Valley Scholars Program.
Every year, graduates from Dutchess, Orange, and Ulster counties make up nearly a third of the more than 4,200 undergraduate students at Marist. Last year, gifts to the HVS Program benefited 160 of these students. All student scholars are graduates from high schools in the Hudson Valley, and our dedicated local businesses recognize that supporting these students is a great investment in the community; the success of our future leaders depends heavily on the commitment we make to them today. Marist College is truly thankful for the enthusiasm of the business professionals who believe in our students.
The program succeeds each year because of those who volunteer their time and efforts to personally call upon businesses asking for their financial support of the Hudson Valley Scholars Program. These business volunteers work closely together throughout the year to ensure that the Hudson Valley Scholars Program meets its goal.
